Hi I'm a new member. I have a centre fire I use for foxes and love to get back piping bunnies. Just wondering how do you find the hw100 in .22? Is it fac or under 12lbfts. I'm from Ireland so I would only get a fac due to licencing laws here. You new a licence for any air rifle over 1 joule. Sorry in advance I this is in the wrong section.

Air Arms 410 Super light in 0.177, mostly for targets but the occasional longer range rabbit, flat trajectory is nice and forgiving if you get the range slightly off. Rotex R8 in .22, hunting rats mostly, set up for night vision (home made). The only thing wrong with this gun is the weight, however that weight also makes it very steady to shoot off sticks. FX Wildcat, because its awesome . It is also becoming my go to gun for most things these days. Compact and easy to carry accurate and very quiet. I find that the AA Diabolo Field works in all the above, in each caliber note: all sub 12fp

I have full length hw100 in .177 jsb exacts. and TX200 hc in .177 RWS superdome. i prefer the .177 as it is more forgiving at slightly longer ranges..
I have found the HW100 robust and accurate as anything i have ever owned.. however a tad heavy, did try A&M cylinder but i jiggered up my brass internals swapping the o rings. I am not a fiddler of rifles so my fault on that score anyhow sorted that and found cylinder had a leak on front where the refill valve was. A&M where brilliant and i ended up with refund and old cylinder back on.
yes im Rambling, i find .177 as good imho as .22 if you hit the spot you are aiming for who can ask for more.

We have 2 Air Arms, an S410f and a MPR, both .177 and like AA field in 4.52 Also have a .177 BSA R10 that likes JSB Heavy in 4.51 We only shoot targets so chose .177 for it's flatter trajectory

I have just bought my first Air Rifle, a Weihrauch HW77. I bought a .177 firstly as they are considerably cheaper to Feed in my Neck of the Woods. It has a flatter Trajectory so for a newby to Air Rifles like me I appreciate less holdover. Lastly after watching an episode of the Airgun Gear Show showing the retained energy difference at extended range I also decided that for Hunting Small Game at the distances I will be shooting them the minor difference in Foot Pounds was not worth considering
